I had so much fun with this Digi image for the Crafters Challenge Design Team! I knew as soon as I saw it that I wanted it and wanted to use it to make a goody box. I just love this character, the image cracks me up.
This image was provided to me free for being part of the design team. The image is called Undead Fred and is available from Dr. Digi’s House of Stamps. The image is located HERE. The full website is HERE. The other products used came from various locations and similar items can be found at just about any arts and crafts supply store.
Here’s a video where I walk you through the project, what I did, and what I used. If you prefer to just read it you can scroll past the video, and the info is below.
To make this box I used a premade goody box. The theme this month is stencils and admittedly, you can barely even tell I used one. What I did was use a zigzag stencil (to match the pattern on the box) on a sheet of old book paper, just colored in the stencil but rubbing with an ink pad. Then I tore that piece of paper into scraps to use on my box. I colored Fred and his dog in with alcohol markers and fussy cut them out. I then layered Fred, the scraps of stenciled paper, and some matching washi tapes on a piece of chipboard and inked around the chipboard a bit.
On the box itself, I did a few more scraps of stenciled paper and washi tapes on the front and additional scraps of paper on the back. I then glued the chipboard embellishment on with just a glob of glue sort of in the center, so that after you eat your goodies you can pull it off and save it for next year’s decor.
