I’m not entirely sure why joining a design team and starting at my absolutely busiest time of the year seemed like a good idea, but that’s where I’m at. Back to school and end of the school year are when I am just swamped! A deadline is a deadline though, so I met my deadline. I knew that I’d be making a card and keeping it simple and that’s what I did.
If you didn’t pick up on it already, this is a design team project, which means I got the image for free to make something fun and share with you. The image is called: Chibi My Kind of Crazy, and it’s available as a digital image from Stampers Delight. (click the links to go to the image directly, and full website respectively)
The theme for this challenge was “Favorite Color Combo” and mine is pretty much always bright colors, but specifically blue and green, and I love to throw in bold neutrals as well. The card base is a premade card base, I absolutely LOVE using them and buy a big box with various colors and envelopes all at once. I printed the image out, colored it with alcohol markers, and then trimmed the excess paper off leaving just a small outline. The card detail is layered pieces of Colorbok textured paper in matching colors, and the matching sentiment, print and cut out as well.
I also thought the image would be super cute on a fun gift box with a clear window and filled with bright-colored candy, but I couldn’t find my box of gift boxes. (If you’ve been around a while you know I’m not the tidiest crafter or person. LOL )
Hopefully, this card still shows that simple can be good, and even if you’re crazy busy there is time for handmade items in your life!
If you’d like to try out this challenge yourself or see what else the design team has done this month check out The Crafters Challenge Blog. One design team member changed the image completely by giving a haircut and I LOVE the result!
Stayed tuned for my next project, which hopefully I have more time to go crazy with, and also a new crochet pattern release coming at the end of the month! (Hopefully! I’m a bit behind schedule.)
