I’m really struggling with the blog this month. I’ve yet in casual browsing to find an issue that didn’t amaze me, but this issue kind of does. I’m just not in love with anything in it. I DO however have some stuff coming down the line, but I’m just generally uninspired this month. There has been a lot of sitting and saying “I SHOULD be doing something for my blog,” while then NOT actually doing it. I did order a plant based on an ad and am attempting to grow it. The placemats, the only project I both really liked and do somewhat need, caused some struggle, AND this is great news for you, I’m completely redesigning and modernizing it, so I will be able to share the pattern here for free! I am going to make the slippers, but also don’t really need a pair (got super cute bunny ear slippers for Christmas, and spring is on the way.) so I don’t know if I’ll make my size or a kid’s pair just to test the pattern. My son has been desperate to do paper mache, and there is a project for that.I’m hoping to tackle it during the impending snow days. (Anywhere from 5-8 inches in my area, IF the weather man is correct. Though, let’s be honest, he rarely is.) But mostly I’m just not in love with this issue. I do have stuff going, but there just isn’t much to talk about this month, at least not until some things are completed. The weather outside certainly doesn’t help me get motivated, nor does the pollen.
Maybe I should take this time to design the vintage inspired fabrics I’ve been wanting to do. Or starting a twitter (even in only my young 30s I feel to old for twitter.) Maybe I can learn a new skill, or ….
I have decided, and hopefully the issue is chock full of great stuff, for the April issue I’ll be selecting the oldest April issue in my collection! Since everyone loves the older issues that should be lots of fun! I’ll be picking the issue soon to get a jump start but won’t announce it until next month.
As the month progresses these projects will be talked about and posted, Wednesday when my son cooks dinner he’ll be trying a magazine recipe (Noodle Bake) (Scratch that- just realized Wednesday is my son’s birthday! he won’t be cooking as usual, but one day this week he’s making Noodle Bake,) and for the next week I’ll be serving scrambled eggs for breakfasts so I can blow out 12 or more egg shells for the “Egg Ring” craft. Just don’t remind me the month is half over, I don’t want to think about it.
