I started another one of the December 1948 projects, the crocheted flowers!  So far I have one leaf, with some errors in it. I have to make a new leaf with a thinner wire, and then if it’s good make three more. Four leaves total for the geranium. Instead of the various wires and threads used in the instructions I’m trying to find one thread type and one wire type to use. I tried a 22 gauge and it’s just to thick. I have a few things to finish up from the October/November 1992 issue, but a new issue “came in the mail” today. (By came in the mail I mean “was picked off my shelf,” but I’m trying to maintain the spirit of the blog.)  The new issue is November 1962. I flipped through and am really excited about it! I went out today to get supplies I needed for projects in the current issue, and also for some unrelated Halloween supplies. Well, the craft store had quite a sale!  All of this came home with me. The teal colored Aunt Lydias are for the potholder in the current issue. The red, white, and green are for Christmas ornaments in the current issue. The orangey/peachy stuff is for a child’s sweater that I will be modifying from the current issue. The rest? Well it was cute, and on sale, and worsted weight!
